RPL Teens Write! This Saturday!

The RPL is starting a new writing group for teens with the first meeting’s themes being Breaking Down Barriers. Practice getting your thoughts on paper, learn different writing techniques, and get the chance to share your work!

Craft Catch All!

Come this Thursday at 6pm when we flood the community room with crafts galore! Come make something to take home. Ages 13-18.

 

Come to our teen program tonight at pm, were we'll play werewolf and other party games for your enjoyment! Ages 13-18 are welcome to come!

Eclipse Craft

Are you having trouble finding eclipse viewing glasses? Fear not! You can make this fun craft instead!

We do not have glasses available to the public. The library will have an eclipse viewing party from 12:30 to 1:30 where we will be making pinhole viewers and streaming the NASA live stream of the eclipse.

Did you remember to log in your books for summer reading? If not, log them now before it's too late! We'll be giving out prizes all week! Come pick up your book if you finished your goal.

Lock In!

If you've been reading for the Teen Summer Reading Program, you're invited to come to our Teen Lock In after Library hours from 6-11 pm. We'll have games, movies, make our own snacks and lots of prize give aways! Pick up your permission slip at the library and  come ready to have fun!

Summer Reading has begun!

Want to get prizes for JUST READING this Summer?
1. Sign up with your first and last name as your username (no spaces).
2. Set a goal for yourself.
3. Read!
4. Log your books online or at the library, and, if you want, submit a review!
5. We’ll have prize drawings every week and big prizes like a gift card or an E-reader drawn at the end. Plus, every one who completes their reading goal gets a free book. The top 20 readers will be eligible for our Teen Lock-In Party on Friday, July 28, so keep reading! The more you read, the better your chances!

 Note: If you already signed up by paper, you should already be in, or will be in the system soon, with your first and last name, no spaces, as your username. Come to the library for your PIN, or just turn in your books by paper to a librarian and we'll enter your books in.

Teen Self-Defense Class

At the Rogers Public Library (and at the Young Adult Department especially) we aim to offer ways to equip our young adults with tools they may need in a wide variety of situations. Therefore, we’re pleased to again offer a self-defense class geared toward teens, run by Rogers Police Department Officer Keith Foster, on June 15th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. He’ll lay out some basic principles of defending yourself, and ways to avoid or get out of a difficult situation.

This event is free and open to ages 13-18. No previous self-defense training is needed. Registration is required. Sign up at the library or online while places remain.

Werewolf at Teen Summer Kick Off

This Saturday from 10-4 at RPL: Howling Moon is back! Play in a game of mystery and deception and a whole lot of fun! Part of our teen summer reading kick off!

Build a Better Teen Night

School's out, reading's in! This Thursday at 6pm, come as we get ready for Summer with our Start of Summer party. We will have games, food, prizes and more. Take this opportunity to sign up early for summer reading, and for a chance to win cool prizes! And don't forget: Official Summer Kickoff on Saturday June 3rd! Check out our full teen schedule here.

Teen Movie this Thursday at 6pm. Ages 13-18.

Teen Movie Night, first two Thursdays of each month. Come back a week from Thursday for Third Thursday Game Night, then in two weeks it's a Summer Reading Party before we officially Kick off Summer Reading on Saturday, June 3rd. Stay tuned!
