Summer Reading Club Wrap Up

Hey guys,

First off, thanks for helping make Summer Reading Club such a big success this year. Last week’s Karaoke Night was a blast! We’ll have some fun stuff coming this fall, so stayed tuned for updates!

Here’s our Thursday Night Schedule for the coming months:

Events are for Teens, 8-12th grade, and their guests. Refreshments provided, but don’t take them out of the Community Room!
Movies: 6-8 p.m.

Third Thursday Gaming Night: 6-8 p.m.
Join us every Third Thursday Night for Nintendo Wii games and more courtesy of The RPL Teen Scene and Game Crazy! Refreshments provided!

SRC is winding down!

Thanks to all who came to our Book Buffet last Saturday, and thanks also to those who attended our Writer's Workshop. If you'd like to see more programs like these, or something else entirely, come to our Young Adult Advisory Council meeting at 11 a.m. on Saturday August 9th.

Be sure to finish your reading this week by August 2nd. That's the last day to submit reading logs!

Plan to be here at 5 p.m. on August 7th or our end of SRC Karakoe party! We plan to announce prize give aways, and just have fun in general!

Book Buffet

July 26 Book Buffet 12-4 p.m.
Dig into a book while you dig into food! Work toward your Summer Reading needs at the library, while enjoying lunch on us! Only catch-You’ll need to be silent while reading…except for the sound of chewing. Grades 8-12

If you've read ten or more hours, come in and sign up for a chance to win prizes, like an iPod Shuffle or a gift card to Lewis and Clark Outfitters!

This Week

Thanks to all who stopped by our teen events this past week. Our writer’s workshop was a lot of fun, as was our Anime event. This week we have our Teen Writer’s Workshop again at 1 on Tuesday, feel free to come, even if you missed last week’s workshop! We also have third Thursday gaming night this week at 6 p.m. in the community room.

Next week, the Thursday movie is National Treasure 2! If you’re looking to finish up your summer reading, while also getting a snack, check out our Book Buffet from 12-4 Saturday, July 26.

July 12 Morph into Anime 1-4 p.m.
"Morph" into your favorite anime character! Make yourself a costume, then chill out and watch some anime, and we'll award the best dressed. Grades 8-12.
