ALA Youth Media Awards

ALA recently announced their Youth Media Awards, celebrating the best books from the past year.

Of note to us, the Printz Awards:
“I’ll Give You the Sun,” written by Jandy Nelson, is the 2015 Printz Award winner.

Saturday, June 28 the library will be throwing our first ever 

"Fandoms United"

Think of it as a mini Comic Con right here in your local library.  We'll play themed games, discuss, debate, and refute head-cannons and theories, plus we'll be having a cosplay contest with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

So get busy planning your costumes!!

Printz Award Winners!

The ALA Micheal L. Printz Award winner and honor books have been announced! This year's winner for excellence in Young Adult Literature is:

Midwinterblood by Marcus Sedgwick.

Doomed love circles back through the centuries in a series of seven intricately plotted, interlocking stories set on a mysterious, isolated island. Forgetting and remembering, blessed and cursed, modern and ancient, these dualities brilliantly infuse the novel’s lush landscape.


The 2014 Honor Books are:

Navigating Early By Clare Vanderpool
