Teen Read Week!!
Teen Read Week is here!
This week, we at the library encourage you to read for the fun of it! Find a book you can sink your teeth into and taste the reading goodness! We're talking about Books with Bite. Books that are as sumptuous as a beautiful rib eye steak grilled on hardwood fire. Or that grip you in their jaws and won't let go till the very end.
You're encouraged to drop by the library and fill at a review form to be posted on our bulletin board. Or vote for your favorite book of the year.
On Thursday, it's Third Thursday Game Night, and we're dedicating it to the one man who knows biting: Pac Man! Come and compete for the best score, and win prizes! On top of that, we have a Super Smash Bros Brawl tournament as well! This Thursday from 6-8 p.m.

Back To School, and Other Notes
Of course, if you’re not enjoying the school year, we also have plenty of resources to help you unwind and take your mind off those upcoming tests for awhile.
Now the news:
I’m looking to start an Anime Club! How many of you can meet on the second Saturday of the month (that would be September 13th next month) around noon (after our YAAC meeting)? We plan to have snacks, an episode of an Anime program, as well a chance to share your anime artwork, fanfiction, or just chat with other anime fans. If the second Saturday of the month does not work, feel free to suggest better times.
I’d really like to hear from you if you can join, so I have an idea of how many to expect.
On other matters:

Once you've logged in your ultimate goal in hours for the summer, you can calculate your weekly goal. Each week fulfilling your goal gets you a weekly prize (The First "tier" is Chick-Fil-A coupons for an 8-pack of nuggets).
Just follow this cheat sheet:

This week, it's Third Thursday Gaming night.
But also this week, I'm happy to announce a chance for you to make our teen area more colorful:
Are you in 8th to 12th grade and wish to show off your artistic talent?
The Rogers Public Library is displaying art made by Rogers area teens. The theme is “Metamorphosis.” That is, change, growing or emerging.
Submit your artwork to the Rogers Public Library between now and June 7 by 5 p.m. There are 8-9th grade and 10-12th grade categories. Categories by medium are: pencil drawings, paintings, photography, and mixed media. Winners will be announced June 10th. There will be prizes for each grade.

So you’re in 8th to 12th grade, and didn’t go to the beach for Spring Break. Let the Rogers Public Library Young Adult Department bring the beach experience to you! On March 17th at 12 p.m. in the Community room, enjoy lemonade, food and some episodes out of season three of Lost at the Rogers library.
This event is for students in grades 8th to 12th. It begins at 12 p.m. and lasts to 4 p.m. Lost the series is rated TV14.
